Once in a while a voice of such quality and beauty rises up that it transcends all musical styles and cultures. Pia has such a voice. Her gentle, echoing vocals and the enigmatic arrangments create a warm, heavenly sound. It is a gorgeous collection of heartfelt songs.
Once again, Pia has written a collection of songs that she performs with an air of such innocence that we cannot fail to be captured by them. Backed by superb musicians such as Peter Booker and John Richardson her voice shines like a corona of light emerging from shadows. The purity of her voice is magical, and the melodies echo out of enthralling arrangments where guitar, keyboards , flutes and percussion all interweave. You owe it to yourself to share in the beauty, joy and quality of this album.
Pacifica (2003) Pacifica is full of spiritual longing and devotion. Influenced and inspired by her spiritual home, India, many of her songs have a strong Indian flavour instrumentally and lyrically. Both “Lord of the Universe” and “Nitai” are inspired by Indian deities and feature Indian percussion, Sanskrit chanting and a hypnotic beat. Added to this are more western sounds such guitars, echoing pianos and atmospheric synths that make her music colourful and unique, otherworldly and rootsy. 1. Prelude (Eternally Blissful) (2:56)
